If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, you can contact us at: perfect.cup.app@gmail.com
2. Data We Collect
We collect and process the following categories of information when you use Perfect Cup:
- Account data: name, email address, and login credentials, managed through our authentication provider (see Section 5).
- Content you create: your coffee collection, brew notes and parameters, ratings, reviews, custom tags, and app preferences.
- Subscription and purchase data: when you buy a subscription or in-app purchase, we receive purchase and subscription status information (such as product purchased, transaction identifiers, and renewal status) via our payments provider. Actual payment details (e.g. card data) are processed by Apple or Google, not by us.
- Technical and usage data: device and app information, and crash/diagnostic reports generated automatically while the app runs.
3. How We Collect Data
We collect data:
- Directly from you when you enter information into the app or create an account.
- Automatically through the app while it is running (for example, crash reports and basic diagnostics).
- From our third-party providers (Section 5) in connection with authentication and subscriptions.
4. Purposes and Legal Bases
We use your data for the following purposes:
- To provide and operate the app and its features, including managing your account.
- To process subscriptions and in-app purchases.
- To maintain and improve the app, including fixing bugs and analyzing performance.
Where the GDPR applies, we process your data based on:
- Performance of a contract (to provide the app, manage your account, and process purchases).
- Our legitimate interests (to improve the app, ensure stability, and protect against abuse).
- Your consent, where required (for optional features).
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may process data about you on our behalf:
- Clerk — user authentication and account management (processes your name, email, login credentials, and session data).
- RevenueCat — management of subscriptions and in-app purchases (processes purchase and subscription status and a user/device identifier).
These providers act as our processors or, in some cases, as independent controllers, and have their own privacy policies. We only share data with them to the extent necessary for the purposes described above.
6. Data Retention
We keep your data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, or as required by law. In general:
- Account-related data and content you create are retained for as long as your account exists.
- Subscription records are retained as long as required for billing and legal/tax obligations.
- Technical and crash logs are kept for up to 6 months unless we need them longer for security or legal reasons.
When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data unless we are legally required to retain it.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location (for example, if you are in the European Economic Area or the UK), you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request deletion of your data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Request portability of your data.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise these rights, please contact us at perfect.cup.app@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
8. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
9. International Transfers
Your data may be processed and stored in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States, by the providers listed in Section 5. Where data is transferred outside the EEA/UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an applicable adequacy decision.
10. Children's Privacy
The app is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child without appropriate consent, we will delete that information.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The most current version will always be available within the app and at https://perfectcup.coffee/legal/privacy-policy.html. If we make material changes, we will notify you within the app or by other appropriate means.
